City Farm Horse In Looking Owner Sell Small

Some urban laws, which date back to simpler times where homesteading was more common, still allow what is considered small livestock to be owned, in small numbers, within city limits, on city lots. Typically, three small livestock, per lot is allowed. This can be any combination (equalling 3) of:

  • Hens
  • Dwarf goats
  • Rabbits

Three hens, per 1 lot residence, are allowed and not considered pets. This is because these small livestock once helped families sustain themselves, whereas pets must be maintained and provided for, rather than helping to provide for a family's food needs. A ressurgence in sustainable homesteading practices - even within the city - is not only underway but encouraged. Raising chickens, and edible gardening are two common, and growing in popularity, examples.
